When Your Thoughts Won't Stop Racing and Sleep Won't Come...

Let master storyteller, Marilee Zdenek, lead you into an evocative daydream in which you are the central character. Getting Through the Night provides four separate stories designed to help you release negative thoughts and replace them with comforting, healing images. The music and the words of the storyteller lead you into a freeing experience and encourage you to sleep peacefully through the night. The set of two tapes is comforting for all ages.

Tape I. Letting Go
Tape I. Side 1. You are invited to a magical place, a meadow where a tranquil river winds slowly by. Long ago, an ancient people came here to release their troubles and renew their strength. Time and the people moved on, but the place remains as beautiful as it was then. Here you are led -- softly, gently-- into such deep relaxation that sleep comes easily and dreams can be wonderfully restoring.

Tape 1. Side 2. High in the mountains, soft with an early snow, a beautiful house stands empty. The door is not locked; a sign invites you in. The story unfolds and with it your stress melts away as easily as a snowball, warming in the sun. The world looks different through the large window that faces the mountains and the valley. Time slips by; perspectives change. Perhaps you change, too, feeling more centered and peaceful.

TAPE II. The Healing Place
This tape was released in limited numbers to hospitals and healthcare professionals to be used by people who were dealing with the trauma of the Northridge Earthquake in 1994. Later, it was used in Children's Hospital in Oklahoma City after the bombing. It is helpful for all ages as a technique for releasing physical or emotional pain. Even very young children enjoy the soothing voice and relaxing music.

Tape II. Side 1. Ride a magical train that was made for you alone, that carries you to The Healing Place where a very special person (perhaps it is an angel, or a healer) shows you how to release the pain and replace it with comforting images.

Tape II. Side 2. Lie on a blanket on a tropical beach in the early evening. Some wonderfully comforting animals come, one at a time, to lie by your side in the star-filled, moon-lit night. In the early morning, dolphins come close to the shore, calling softly. If you want to, you can touch the dolphin that comes to the shallow water and waits for you. If you want to, you can let your dolphin carry you deeper into a healing dream.
